Benefits of Natural British Alpaca Woollen Mattress Toppers: Alpaca fleece is as soft as cashmere and is also warmer than sheep’s wool and the Alpaca wool is hypo-allergenic and almost completely waterproof. Traditional lamb’s wool can absorb up to 50% of its own body weight in moisture, but after this there's a saturation point and the perspiration can then sit next to skin. The Alpaca wool is a hollow fibre that traps in more heat and mechanically pushes the water away which in turn will never have a saturation point on the skin. Essentially, the water evaporates more effectively because of the warmth of the alpaca.
